When I purchased the Wilton Spiral Cutting Insert, I, by my own admission, didn't read the fine print and didn't realize that I was purchasing the insert only! I have still used it, with care, without the missing part that holds the unit in place. But even using it with a steady hand, it produces some really cute whimsical designs to be place on my cakes! Truthfully, it's kind of slow using it in this method, but as soon as I can find the unit that it fits the cutter, then I presume that this little gatchet will get lots more use on my cakes... such a cute lil' design that it produces. I highly recommend the cutter, as the cut is sharp and presice, and I'm sure will be a whiz to use and must faster once I get the other half of the product!!! I love to put the little swirly's on whimsical cakes, kids cakes, fun cakes, and lots of other fun-themed cakes!!! Love it!
