Excellent Idea Book filled with Eye Candy! Mar 05, 2011
By Grace M. Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R37ZID0PYA9XOW I uploaded a video so you can see what's inside. As pointed out by others, it's not really a cookbook. It's more of a special edition magazine full of beautiful, cute, and creatively decorated cake pops. You won't find any patterns, or specific photos of the "in between" steps for each design, but the photos of the finished product, and general instructions are more than enough to get the creative sparks going!

Idea magazine, NOT a how to make cake pop book Mar 07, 2011

I liked this "book", but as other reviewers mentioned, it is more of an idea magazine and not a step by step how to make cake pops book. That said, it includes ideas for cookie pops, brownie pops and cake pops. Though there is a section which covers making cake pop dough and different sizes of round pops, this book doesn't cover different flavors, different shapes (except pushing the dough through a tube) and decorating elements like candy, sprinkles, pretzels, etc. are not covered much at all. What is covered are cookie pops and brownie pops molded in Wilton molds, dipping pops into candy melted in a Wilton candy pro melting pot (microwaving not covered), pops dried in Wilton pop decorating stand (styrofoam not mentioned) and decorating using primarily Wilton candy sprinkles of all kinds and a lot of Wilton pre-rolled and tinted fondant. Almost all the pops are round or molded in a Wilton mold. They also neglect to mention using a cookie scoop, a great way to get your cake pops all the same size.
Don't get me wrong, many of the pops are gorgeous and I will definitely be using some of the techniques, even the ones using fondant, but it is unlikely a beginner will be able to make these pops the first time. Instead, buy Bakerella's book, which isn't perfect, but is better for beginners and has photos of the decorating elements, makes different shaped pops, talks about candy temperature and cake pop temperature. It will at least give beginners a fighting change to make a recognizable pop the first time.
Buy this book for ideas, after you buy Bakerella's book and view her website to learn to make cake pops.

Fun Book Jan 04, 2011

I was a little disappointed that this book is not much more than a magazine. I realize it's a softcover but for $15 I expected better quality. Other than that, the contents are great. So many little projects I can't wait to try. A lot of creative ideas packed into these pages.

Terrific Supplement to the Bakerella Cake Pops Book Jun 25, 2011
By Compay This booklet is absolutely loaded with amazing ideas, although it shouldn't be your first purchase if you're new to making cake pops. If you're in need of a how-to book with photo tutorials, you'll want to start with "Cake Pops: Tips, Tricks, and Recipes for More Than 40 Irresistible Mini Treats."
What I enjoyed about this booklet is that you're provided with a basic list of decoration needs for each pop, so you know what supplies are required. While I'm not a big fan of the pops that call for cut-out fondant, I'm glad that they included pictures to inspire you.
In addition to providing you with great photos of decorated cake pops, the booklet also offers up a variety of display ideas.
I have already attempted a few of the cake pops available in the booklet, I consider this an excellent investment. Just keep in mind that it's not really an instructional book, but basically a great collection of examples to inspire you.
