Pleasantly surprised! May 28, 2010

I was a little worried about this one but was pleased when we cut into the cake and saw a clearly defined heart-shaped tunnel of chocolate ice cream. It's time consuming to make any ice cream cake because you have to keep sticking it in the freezer, but this one required surprisingly little tending. Be prepared - the "instructions" are absolutely useless as far as temperature and amount of time (if you're using a mix, I suggest following the directions on the box for two 9 inch rounds). Also - be sure to put a *little* more batter in the bottom pan - it's a bit deeper and you need the batter in both halves to rise all the way up to the top for the heart to come out right. I'd recommend using a cake leveler (as opposed to a big knife) to shave any extra cake away so the cake and ice cream are at the same height so the top and bottom of the heart actually meet and are even. This is a good product and the cakes get tons of oohs and ahhs. =) Enjoy!

I bought this for my wife because she wanted to make a cake with it for Valentine's Day. My wife made a beautiful, delicious cake on the first try. She was very pleased.
I almost rated it 4 stars, just because it is a "uni-tasker" but I realized I knew that going into the purchase. The cake pan set does what it was made for, and it does it well. 5 stars.

Daughter loves this pan. She made one for her boyfriend and he was so very impressed. They discussed the plans for their wedding and are planning on making multiple heart centered cakes for the "grooms cake" at their wedding.

I have been wanting to purchase this pan for a little while. I am happy with the quality of the pan, I am very happy with the excellent service and fast shipping provided by the seller.
My concern is with the pan itself. The center of the cake with filling is supposed to resemble a heart ... I've made this cake twice now, and both times, the center was more circular or oval in shape rather than heart shaped?

Its nice item and was very easy to use but I try to fill it with ice cream unfortunately its melts so don't try it with ice cream
