Better pens exist Apr 18, 2010
By B. Poole I was ready to throw the set out after one use and wish I had not wasted my money on this particular Wilton product. I highly suggest that you put the money toward another brand such as KopyKake pens or Americolor. The Wilton tips are too thick, yes including those labeled "fine tip", and although sufficient to fill in colors or make thick lines, you will be disappointed using on any design that calls for a thin line. If it were the only one of it's type out there, that would be a different story but it isn't.

Not worth it May 14, 2010

I bought these markers thinking it would make it easier to "paint" on my son's birthday cake. I don't know if the markers were dried out, or if they are just a horrible product. I attempted to write on chocolate and fondant, and it was a streaky, chunky mess. The tips of the markers balled up and then simply would not work. I ended up buying Wiltons frosting colors and just used a small brush to paint on detail.

They do not work on candy melts Oct 30, 2010
By Katie

Bought these to write on candy melts.. they just don't work. I would draw one "eye" and it was sort of okay, then onto the 2nd "eye" and it would just not show up. I tried wiping it with paper towel in between but that didn't even really help. Wasted $$$ I'm going to get the Americolor Gourmet Writer....

Wilson Food Writer Edible Color Markers are NOT for melted chocolate Apr 24, 2011
By Amy Kebbekus I, too, bought these markers so that I could draw on faces on my cake pops - dipped in the Wilson melting chocolate. I got 2 eyeballs on a smiley face and a third of a grin before the black stopped working. No amount on wiping on a clean paper towel would allow me to finish the face. Seriously disappointed in the experience. It should have a note that you cannot use it with the chocolates. For example, on the melting chocolates Wilson tells you which kind of coloring you can add to white. The packaging for the markers has no information as for which uses they are meant.

Waste of Money! Oct 22, 2010
By Micah M Hill I wish I would have read these reviews before purchasing this product at a local craft store. Like some of the other reviewers, I was trying to draw on candy melts and it didn't work at all. Now my jack-o-lantern cake pops will just have to be pumpkins :( Wilton does have some great products, but these markers are not one of them.
