I bought this because a cupcake recipe I was going to make called for frosting the cupcakes using a pastry bag with a star tip. I like to bake, but knew nothing about decorating desserts. So I went to my local Michael's and was quickly unnerved by the many various tips, pastry bags, etc. available. Then I saw this handy tool --- it is completely reusable, unlike the disposable pastry bags, and very sturdy and easy to maneuver. Plus, it comes with a variety of tips to make a number of different design elements, and other tips that Wilton sells can be used with this tool as well. I actually did just a very simple swirled top for the cupcakes, but I look forward to trying some of the other designs --- stars, leaves, rosettes --- now I see how user-friendly this tool is. It's also very easy to assemble/disassemble, and cleans in a snap. Overall, just very fun to use and a good way to be creative and impress your friends and family!

This is a great way to easily decorate your cupcakes. The filling of frosting was easy and how to dispense it. Very nice!
Update(5/13/11): So far so good. Very easy to use. After using it for awhile icing cupcakes my thumb started to hurt. Depending on how thick your icing comes out will depend on how hard you have to press down.

i love how my cupcakes turned out after using this product to ice them! my family was very impressed and thought that i had purchased the cupcake for my daughters party. i had originally planned on buying from a baker and that would have been over $50. love that i can do it for much cheaper and they look (and taste) just as good!!

The hard part was filling this up with frosting -_- It was so tedious. The tips aren't that great but I did get this when I was new to frosting cupcakes. It's not too easy to clean seeing that it's hard to scrub the inside of the tube.
I don't use this anymore. Just get disposable bags and buy your tips separate or from your local Michael's.

The price is right and what's not to love about Wilton products. A lot of bang for the buck in this item. Very happy!
