Look to be quality product May 26, 2012
By Chris Actually haven't got to use this yet, but it looks well made, quality. I bought it for the smaller oven I use, as it only uses 12" square pans. This one wouldn't fit, I think due to the top sides having that "rim" sticking out, so it was a tight fit and I couldn't close the oven door. So disappointed in that, but it does look to be a quality product, well-made. Will keep it for the day I get my larger oven fixed! The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is it didn't fit my oven and I haven't yet got to try it, but 3 stars seemed too few since I'm sure it's a good pan.
Wasn't sure what to expect - good pan! Oct 12, 2011
By Carin I wasn't sure what to expect with this pan and made a test cake to see if the upside down flower nail worked to bake the cake more evenly. The test cake and bottom, 2-layer tier of the wedding cake came out really well. I used the nail stuck through the center of the parchment paper and that seemed to really make a difference. I also used bake even strips (soaked in water and wrapped around the cake pan) to make sure the corners didn't cook faster than the rest of the cake. I was really pleased with the results.
I used the 12" square, a 10" round, 8" round and a 6" round for a four tier wedding cake. The bottom layer as a square worked really well. I will definitely make sure to get Wilton "Decorator Preferred" pans for any other pans I buy, as most professional grade pans cost a lot more. It is really important when baking wedding cakes to have square pans that have 90 degree corners and are truly square. If you are getting rounds or any other shapes, the same size pans shouldn't fit inside one another. The less expensive pans don't have the finished look, as they have curved edges instead of being vertically straight. The Decorator Preferred pans seem to be the answer to this problem.

Works perfect! Dec 07, 2010
By Sara Murdock I haven't used a cake pan this size before, so when i went to make the batter, i realized i needed 2 cake boxes, just to fill this thing up. Instead of buying the heating core they recommend, i used the metal nail flower holder that i got during my wilton classes, and it bakes perfectly =]
