The quality is very good, but for 30 dollars you can buy another set. The papers they give you are useless, and the ink bleeds easily through. The book is practically useless because it tells you nothing at all. They also don't specify how to use the cleaning solution they give you, or what exactly the purpose of the dropper is. Although I might just be acting a little bit dense, I would've liked decent instructions. The only part worth paying for is the ink and the nibs. Overall it's not worth it, do yourself a favor and just buy the ink and nibs from another reasonably priced brand.

The contents are okay, but it comes in a jumbled up mess that you have to organize. There are no holders, no reusable box, nothing. And the so-called 'comprehensive' guide does not tell newbies how to actually USE a dip pen. I would not buy this again and probably won't use it much. I had to put the pens and nibs (floating around in a little baggie) in a tin of my own, and book and loose practice papers in my bookcase getting wrinkled, and the ink bottles are just sitting around on my desk, along with the loose palette. One molded plastic organizer would have made all the difference.

Great set that includes everything I need to start my learning of calligraphy.But the textbook is too brief and not quite sufficient for a beginner.
