This product is great for highlighting. The ink doesn't fade after a while, and is very very bright.
Also it doesn't smudge the ink on whatever you're highlighting!
The only issue I've had is that the ink bleeds a bit through the paper if you hold the marker to it a bit too long after swiping.

These actually do last a long time and the color is terrific.
However, they do bleed through textbook pages that are thinner and the smooth barrel makes them a bit slippery.
Being round, I constantly have to turn it in my hand to line up the chisel tip to the text.
Overall, I would buy these again, but would first look at other products that may offer solutions to the problems mentioned above.

Take forever to dry on glossy paper, and will smear once you turn the page. Unfortunate, because once it dries, the color stays vibrant. Long lasting, however. Would be great in porous or non glossy paper though.

Nice highlighters. Good price. Can't go wrong with that combination. I haven't used them long enough, but I suspect that they're going to last for a while.

I got this package for $1 on July, 2011. It is worth it in every aspect for 25 cents. My kids love them :-)
