Thoroughly unimpressed...a waste of money. Mar 24, 2012
By Mike Hall I am a professional cartoonist. Normally, when I need to use white opaquing paint, I get out my brush, but I've been trying to work faster and more efficiently as my workload has increased, which inspired me to try a few different brands of opaque white marker. Sakura's Pen-Touch disappointed more than any other I've tried thus far: the coverage was weak, requiring numerous applications and resulting in sticky build-up and a slow dry-time; unwieldy globs of paint built up on the tip from even simple applications; and finally, the tip itself fell right out of the pen while I tried to clean off one of the aforementioned globs. Normally, I'm quite pleased with Sakura products: I use their Pigma Microns on a regular basis, calling upon them to ink virtually every comic strip or cartoon I draw. Sakura's Pen-Touch, however, is on the exact opposite end of the spectrum. It was an utter waste of money which made my job harder rather than easier, which is the single worst condemnation a professional artist can levy against an art supply.
Just wanted a white pen... Apr 06, 2012
By M. Doster I bought this pen at a stationary shop where I live. It's awful. At least for doing things in fine detail--I paint as a hobby and I sometimes like to mix it up with gel pens or ball-point pens. I was looking for a white one, but this was a waste of money. The ink wouldn't come out when I needed it to, then it would get all over my hands...not for detailed work. I bought a Sanford Uni-Ball Gel Impact Pen instead, and it works way better for my needs.
