I bought this to try it on the rust on my S-10. I followed the directions but it was a little humid so I wasn't expecting perfect results. I used the marine clean, then the metal ready and honestly besides taking the clear coat off of the paint where I oversprayed it really didn't do a whole lot. Rust was not dis-colored.
The Por-15 however is amazing. I put on a single thin lair of this in a couple spots before it looked like rain so I stopped. It had set on the car for maybe 30 mins before it started raining and this stuff was already hard as a rock! It didn't run, smear, fade, anything. It just held on tight. I am really impressed with the thickness of this stuff and plan to use it again.
I am sure the cleaner and metal ready do their job but just don't expect anything drastic from them alone.

When I ordered this product , they sent me the wrong thing by accident, some sort of aerosol paint sprayer. I emailed them, to wich I got a response the same day, saying that they'd next day air me the correct product and that I should keep the sprayer for my troubles. I would definitely do business with them again.

I've used other rust preventative products in the past, also Eastwoods product, nothing else even comes close to the performance and quality of Por-15. Follow the directions and say goodbye to rust for good. I tried Eastwoods once because of several good reviews i read, but don't be fooled it's not even close.

I wish I would have known this before purchasing the kit. There are labels on the 2 bottles of clean/prep product with a warning that there are ingredients known to cause cancer in the state of CA.
Whoa.
There's a 2 page photocopied instruction sheet included with a detailed Q&A section, and warnings not to breathe in the fumes, or get any on your skin.
It's not difficult to be careful with the stuff, wearing the included gloves helps considerably. But it's still concerning to me that there is a known carcinogen in the product.
That aside, the stuff works GREAT. I mean, AMAZINGLY well. Dries more quickly than the instructions say, but I still have it PLENTY of time to make sure it was dry and safe before I touched it and painted over it. When you're done, the rust spot is a rock-hard piece of black metal, ready for painting.
Great stuff, I hope they can come up with a new formula that's a bit less dangerous.
