There are a lot of products that claim to prevent rust or stop it once started. In my experience, this is the only product that actually delivers. The rest work for a little while but soon rust returns or new rust starts.
This product comes with everything you need to give it a try for yourself. It covers a good area so small jobs will be no problem. Follow the directions carefully and you will not be disappointed.
It is important to note that this material is very permanent - very difficult to get off anything it touches - and this includes skin. The gloves are included in the kit for a reason - use them! I recommend wearing old clothes you do not need, cover your skin completely. Make sure you protect the surrounding area so drips do not go astray!

I heard a lot of good things from a lot of good places about POR-15, and having been on my car about a month, I've got nothing but good things to say about it as well. I chose to buy the kit over everything separately, simply because I was only buying it for a few small rust spots on my car (early 90's Honda's are rustbuckets. So reliable though!). I strongly suggest you review what you're going to be painting and get a good idea how much paint you're going to need. The reason I gave the product 4 stars, is that you really need to finish your coats and do everything you want to do with the paint in one shot. It dries so fast that it may very well be dry in the can by the next day. And that's it, it turns completely solid, and has no use but taking up space in a garbage bag. I don't know if the other POR-15 cans are like this, but again, try to size up what you need so you don't end up wasting a ton.
Aside from that, everything is wonderful. The marine clean and the metal ready work well, some reviews say they're not necessary, I think they very much are. Especially if you're doing exactly what POR-15's purpose is: painting over rust. I don't think the paint would have adhered very well if I just tried to brush all the metal flakes and dust off with my bare hand. The paint is pretty easy to work with too, it's thick and is easy to apply on bumpy rusty steel. Be very careful with it though! If you drop it, whatever it splashes is on black forever. It'll also be on your hands for days if you get any on yourself. The rubber gloves came for a reason, use them at all times. Take your time, do a good job. It will look great, and stop the rust from spreading where you're painted.

and a great price. Lower than from them direct. Wasn't sure if this would work but with some hard labor and then touch up paint you cannot see any rust at all on my 12 year old car! I am recommending to everyone I know !

The POR-15 paint itself is beautiful stuff. I used it to black out the rims and various rusted parts on my old Harley motorbike. But the only useful item is the POR-15 paint. The rest of the kit us useless. It would be really nice if they switched to plastic paint containers like Sherwin Williams uses. Once you open the can the lid gets so gunked up you are unlikely to be able to use it or open it again.
