Works Well but.... Dec 21, 2011

As a former professional framer I didn't really expect much out of this mat cutter. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it did cut considering the price. Compared to the $1000.00 mat cutters I have used it is a very slow process to lay out the mat for cutting. A 2 hole double mat that I could finish in less then 10 minutes with professional grade equipment took me closer to 2 hours but I was happy with the result. If price is an issue and you don't mind taking your time to do the layout work this mat cutter will do a good job. The only bad thing about it is it comes with no instructions. If you have never used a mat cutter before expect to waste some mat material learning how to use it. The lack of instructions is the reason for not giving it 5 stars.
