Loud and not consistant Jul 03, 2010

I bought one of these because they were promoted as quiet. Yeah right .... It's loud enough even on a concrete surface that it will get on your nerves ......hey, maybe I got one that has an issue? We'll never know. I has a constant loud BUZZZZZ and when you first press the air valve on your airbrush, you get a burst of higher pressure air that will leave a dripping spot before it paints a flow that the regulator is set for........hope I explained this OK.
I recommend everyone shell out the bucks and buy a larger unit with more options and better regulated air flow.
I will be offing mine, honestly informing the bidders of the issues and taking the loss of money because I was stupid enough to believe Iwata's promotion.
I am extremely disappointed with Iwata.

Loud, but reliable and good for what I use it for! Jul 28, 2010
By Joy D Bemis I use this for airbrushing foundation/blush on a very regular basis since I purchased about 2 months ago. It took me a while to get used to a couple of things: You need to give it a minute to warm up. When you haven't used it for a couple of minutes the buzzing will stop and it will need a second to "repower up" again when you get spraying again. Other than that, it is quite loud. But because I use it for brides, they hear the sound and think "Yes, I am getting something that requires a machine that I cannot purchase at a makeup store". Perhaps they do :) The flow of makeup is consistent with this compressor. I have been using the Kett hydro foundation and occasionall OCC blushes. Remember to turn down the pressure with OCC makeup as it is quite thin. Kett can be used at a higher pressure and sprays perfectly. It only takes about 30 seconds to get a perfect complexion with this machine!

Iwata Ninja Jet Compressor Jul 27, 2011
By Theresa Harper I've been using the Iwata Ninja Jet for about a month now and, like Joy stated in her review, it is a little loud but once it warms up it performs very well. I use this compressor in conjunction with the Iwata HP-BS airbrush to apply airbrush makeup (Kett Hydro) and I haven't experienced any pressure problems. The makeup goes on smoothly and creates a flawless look.
In my humble opinion, the Ninja Jet is a dependable little workhorse that's perfect for home or salon use and the price can't be beat.
(The Amazon Review star rating function lists this as a 'toy'...I can assure you, it is NOT a toy, it is a professional piece of equipment)
