Gelly Roll White Pen Sep 22, 2009
By M. Conger Gelly Roll makes the best milky gel pens. The pen is air tight and keeps the ink fluid so the ink rolls off of the ball with no false starts.

Great Gel Pens for Scrapbooking Mar 18, 2010
By Blue-eyed Daisy All of the Gelly Roll pens I have purchase are great quality! You can go to the Sakura web-site as the opacity and papers they work well with are different for the different types of gelly roll pens, souffle, moonlight, stardust, metallic,ect...If you are a scrapbooker the souffle and glaze pens have some texture when dry and do well on acrylic.

Not quite perfect but the best for black paper I have found Oct 15, 2011

"Been around for a few years now"
Consider my rating 4 1/2 stars. I have been trying to find multicolor gel pens for use on black paper for some time now. In my experience with others, the flow was very inconsistent and the color was more like a watercolor or virtually did not show up at all. Occasionally I would get some where some of the colors showed up but others would not.
These work! All the lighter colors show up brilliantly on black paper and a couple of the darker colors show up less on black paper, which is to be expected. I have not tried them in UV light yet but with the great way they show up in regular light, I'm not concerned about how well they work in UV light. You can produce some really nice art with these on black paper.
Almost perfect, with only the occasional flow problem, but better than any I have found. Others that may not like these probably don't have experience with other pens and don't know that this really is as good as it gets with gel pens for use on black paper. Highly recommended!

Quirky, but awesome Sep 30, 2011

The thing to keep in mind with this particular variety of Gelly Roll is that they ARE NOT GLOSSY. The finish is similar to Tempra paint, so you must allow a layer to completely dry (dries pretty fast though) before you apply another layer. That second layer will be necessary however, because the pasty consistency will cause you to push little lines through to the paper/background. However, the colors are fully steadfast. I used these on some street art stickers, and left them out in the elements; the marks I made with Sharpie ink markers faded before the marks I made with these. Just keep in mind that the Moonlights do have a sort of matte or no-gloss finish. I would rank them third, just below the metallic and Glaze variety (If you don't have the glaze, get them! They are translucent but so nice).
Mmmmmm.....Writes like cream! Feb 10, 2012
By Lori I love love love these pens. I originally found them at Michael's only I didn't know they came in SOOOOOOO many colors! I only had 3 colors and I was thrilled to find out that there were 10! The neons are VERY bright. Totally worth it, Sakura makes the best pens on the market in my opinion!
