I bought this Tekna spray gun because my old GTI was just not cutting it any more for clear coat. It looked good, but always had that thicker, textured finish no matter what I did. Now, enter the Tekna!!! This gun is simply phenomenal. Ever since I've started using it, the clear lays on like glass. The pattern and atomization with this gun is quite exceptional. No matter what clear I use.....even fast dry......it goes on like glass. The price of this gun is far better here than you'll find elsewhere as well. They throw in a digital gauge that's around $60 purchased separately. I have not tried basecoat through it, but I'm sure the results will be the same. Buy it......you'll Love it!

Just to warn other painters. Great for clear gloss, make sure you use appropriate pressure for the paint you use. If manufacture states 12 psi, use 12 psi. That's all you need to minimize overspray and orange peel!!
This gun is not good for touch up work since the nozzle is 1.3. It does give you a nice spray width for painting complet panels. A cheaper gun will actually be able to lower the psi better to match the smaller spray width needed for touch up.
