Killer product, but keeps popping my fuse box! May 15, 2011
By Greg Anderson
I started detailing and machine-polishing vehicles over 15 years ago, and I've used all the brands out there! Along with my SUV, I also own a 22' ski boat and tons of friends who like to keep their cars clean, so I decided it was time to invest in a new polisher (since I'm convinced that no one can detail my own vehicles better than me!).
The polisher works great, and having the ability to turn the speed up/down on-the-fly on the speed-variable wheel is necessary when moving over different edge surfaces (or going from 1 compound to another). The velcro quick-change pads are a must, and the carrying case fits all of the pads and polisher nicely!
My only complaint is this unit draws a TON of power, and within the first minute of using the polisher, the fuse popped on the fuse box. Down the stair I went, reset it, back up the stairs, pull the trigger. POP. This went on a few times, and then noticed that if I slowly pulled the trigger (as opposed to just jump right on it), it would draw less power and allow me to 'ease' into the polishing without popping the fuse. When looking at my fuse box, the fuse for the outlet tied to the garage where I'm plugging into says 20 Amps (and the house was rewired in 2003). The only larger fuse is 30 Amps (for the dryer, which is a different type of plug). Not really sure how to fix this, other than upgrade my fuse box?
Great Polishing kit for the money Apr 26, 2010
Purchased this polisher a few months ago. Did plenty of research on the net prior to purchasing it. Most individuals had positive reviews for it so I bought it. I've used this on my 02 Acura and it brought out the shine on my 1991 Toyota Truck.
The truck has been neglected and sat in the driveway for approximately 4 years and then last year I cleaned out the garage and put her in there. The paint had heavy oxidation and zero luster. I hit the paint with the heavy cutting pad, then the medium yellow and the final stage black pad and the paint now shines.
This polisher works great. I would highly recommend it for someone who loves to take care of their vehicles or for someone who does detail work.
