Very impressed Jun 18, 2011
By Mike Bought this brush for detail painting on 1/72 scale aircraft. Proved to be perfect for the job. It appears to have the same specs as the R1V except with a smaller paint reservoir - couldn't find anything definite regarding the differences between the 2 models. Still it contains more than enough to paint the entire kit and so I will be using for all of my 1/35 and 1/72 painting.
Price compares well with other brushes on the market with the same specs.
Only downside for me are the plastic cap and gunmetal finish though looking very smart makes it a little bit harder to see where needs cleaning. + giving me less excuses for a poor finish.
4.5 - don't get the option for 1/2 stars above
Good Airbrush for models May 06, 2012
By Saloka This is my first airbrush so take this with a grain of salt. I got this airbrush for 40k modeling. From what I can tell, it is basically a Badger Velocity with a smaller cup size making it easier to see what you're doing. A full cup can base coat most of a lemun Russ tank, or for those who don't know what that is about 2-3 minutes constant spraying. The 1 inch max spray width is perfect for this job, and its combination of hairline spray and tiny cup makes fine detail work like infantry models a breeze. Overall, this does a great job from large to small models and is a lot better than spray paint for base coats.
The nicest feature for me was how forgiving this model is. It is easy to disassemble and is extremely easy for a beginner like myself to learn how to clean, disassemble and assemble, and use an airbrush without bending the fine needle or breaking anything when taking it apart for the first time. As a side note, this doesn't come with an actual guide as to how one disassembles the brush (just a diagram) but there is a nice youtube guide.
Overall, I was extremely impressed for $90 and was glad I went with this Badger than a more expensive brush.
