I have been looking for this model for a long time. I had a similar one before. It does everything it is suppose too. Lots of power with the variable speed. Just the right size to do any job. I use it to get the oxidation off my Ranger bass boat which has gel coat. This is the only one I have found with the power and speed to do it. I have 2 other polishers but neither have the power to cut through the oxidation.
The only problem is the bonnet will not stay on the head. The previous one I owned had a bonnet which tied on with a string going through the bonnet. There is also only 1 pad which is to be used for all applications. It really doesn't work for all or you need many pads to do all of your applications. I wish it had a pad to put on to polish, one to take it off and one for buffing.
The unit is also very heavy. It will do the job very well but after a while your arms are getting tired.

Bought this buffer and used 2 day shipping.Came on time and I could"nt wait to try it out.I live in Cleveland and got lucky to catch a fair weather day in January.This thing is very strong,very dependable,and I am extremely pleased with it.I ordered a set of quality foam and wool pads to go with it because I wanted velcro attachments.This tool is worth wayyy more.I was looking to spend between $100 -$200 for a buffer so with the money I saved I purchased compound swirl remover and polish along with the pads.You will not be dissapointed.I detailed someones car after they saw mine and got all of the money that I had spent right back.GOD bless you and have a good day!

Bought this B&D polisher and it works great!!! I was going to buy a DeWalt but it was alot more $$$. I made a great choice because this one is just as powerful. Great power and torque! If you are looking to buy one, buy this one it's worth the $$$!

I used the polisher and it worked great. It is very heavy and plan to take some breaks in between polishing. However I returned it. I bought other polishing pads when I purchased it because it said "buy all these three together" upon checkout. When I got the additional buffing pads there was no way to attach it through the holes. The only buffing pad that works on it was the wool bonnet that came with it. It slips over the pad holder with a string. Upon one project it gummed all up and I needed some more pads. I contacted B&D asking if there was a Velcro or other head that could be used with this so I could change out the type of buffing pads. They told me no. I asked if I could order more wool bonnets and they said to order them from a dealer. I asked her the part number then went online to order it. Every single site said it was discontinued. With the product not making re-ordering the wool bonnet easy and only having one type of pad as an option is why it went back. I will look at other units to buy that offer more availability of the pads. I think I will anti up on the price to a Milwaukee 5540 11 Amp 7-Inch Polisher. I have some of their other power tools and they have stood the test of time so hopefully I will not see "discontinued" on their accessory products.

This is a great product, I polished both mine and my wife's vehicles today and it more the paid for itself in one use, considering most car washes charge around $90.00 a vehicle for a wash and wax, this is a well made quality product that will save you time and money for years to come!
