Pen great, but messy Dec 02, 2009
By Elizabeth A. Dean
"Beth Dean"
I have absolutely no complaints about the actual utility of this pen. It doesn't bleed through my sketchbook pages or even the thin graph paper I use at work. They're as slim as most ball point pens, so they don't take up a lot of space in my bag. It seems like they last a while as well, mostly a good quality pen.
My only complaint, is that the silver finish on the outside of the pen starts to flake off after it's ridden around in your bag or pocket a bit. All it takes is one small scratch on the surface, and this stuff begins coming off everywhere. It sticks to everything, and before you know it there are little flakes all over your hands. Really annoying. I wish they made the outside without a coated finish like the traditional Sharpie markers, and then this would be a non-issue.

amazing!!!!!! Sep 04, 2009

these pens are amazing, totally worth the cost. they write smoothly and don't bleed as long as you don't saturate the area (colouring in something bleeds a little). I am extremely impressed with these. This is now becoming my favourite pen next to the pilot g-2. My one issue is that if the pen is kept upside down or on its side for to long it takes a little to get it going again.

Nice, but nothing special. Nov 12, 2010
By Heather Haft Feels and writes exactly like a 0.5 Micron, which really disappointed me. I was hoping for something with more of a pitch black ink but these are the same charcoal grey as a Micron. These are good pens, they definitely do not bleed and they don't have the strong odor of a Sharpie, but they're nothing special.

The ink smears - even when dry. Jun 25, 2010
By Meridian I purchased these pens to label old family photos because they're acid free (archival safe) and they were advertised as "smear resistant when dry." Well, I guess smear resistant and smear proof are two completely different things. Not only did it take the ink a very LONG time to dry, but 48 hours later a gentle sweep of my fingertip across the dry ink smeared it. What a mess. These pens will work okay on the really old photos that were printed on a more textured paper surface - but then, pencil works just as easily on those types of surfaces. I got these pens to enable me to write on the back of the smoother, more recent photos on which pencil doesn't work. But, after trying these pens (and two other types) I've gone back to the old reliable Sharpie Ultra Fine Point Permanent Marker. It's not acid free, and the fear is that with time the ink will possibly permeate the photo and turn green, but I just write on the very edges of the photos so if that does happen, it won't affect the image itself. That's far better in my opinion than having ink smeared all over my precious family photos.

Great pen while it lasts Jan 15, 2010
By J. McKenna I've been working in a research lab for over 10 years, and have always loved Sharpies, so I was very excited to see that they made pens. These write great, do not smear easily, and do not bleed through paper. However, after a few weeks of use, the nib starts to wear down and becomes unusable, even though there's plenty of ink left. Sadly, I'll have to find a new favorite pen, as less than 2 months of use isn't really acceptable.
