harbor frieght? Nov 27, 2008
By Christopher Hi all, this may not be completely true, but this looks identical to what harbor frieght sells. It is in fact extremely quiet, quietest compressor i've ever used, its a light hum. But i purchased this unit for much less from harbor freight tools. TCP is a great company though, there was an error with one of my packages, and they were so good about it. They need to pay for their good customer service reps somehow you know? And i wouldn't mind spending this much on the set.

Small and Quiet, Great for Crafts Jun 09, 2010
By Pumibel I also commented on the other reviewer's review for this compressor. It is quiet and very small. I understand that compressors with a little more HP and a tank are more desirable to some airbrush artists because using the tank air will limit the pulsations that can make your airbrushing more difficult. I don't know how long most people airbrush in a day, but my projects do not require that much airbrushing, so I don't run my compressor a lot. I use it in short spurts. That makes this little compressor ideal for me.
It is quiet, easy to use, and has a water trap and regulator already attached. I found it easy to adjust the air pressure even though I am an airbrushing noob. It is automatically set to go about 40 psi, but that was too much for me. I am painting doll heads with it, and too much pressure makes a mess for the fine detail I need.
I did not buy my compressor from TCP Global, so I got a coiled hose with it. I actually bought my airbrush and a separate hose from TCP Global, which were sent very quickly, and TCP Global has excellent service.

Very Quiet Compressor May 22, 2011
By Gene Bracken I am new at using an airbrush, so I bought this compressor based solely on specs. It is very quiet and keeps the pressure up adequately. It gets very hot to the touch and I have a concern about it seizing up, but so far that has not happened. I use the airbrush to paint model airplanes, so I do not use it every day. But to this point I have been very pleased with this product. The air regulator with moisture trap is a nice added bonus, but I did not need the free air hose. Be sure to purchase couplings/fittings to adapt whatever hose you use to the output of the regulator, since none are included with the unit. I wound up using an ABD 1/4" - 1/8" brass fitting from TCP Global.
