Good Color Shifting Paint Finish Mar 04, 2008
By W. David Dawson
"David"
I have only tried the red/blue version with excellent results. It's a dark color and I would characterize the color as actually a shifting between dark red purple and a deep blue purple. At a steep angle you can actually see a metallic bronze/gold shift in it. I used it on a finely crafted well sanded pinewood derby car. For my next project, I will be doing the body of a Fender Stratocaster guitar that has seen better days. Once completed, I plan on getting a two part PPC automotive clear coat put on rather than using the step 3 clear coat can. This is for better durability. The manufacturer of the paint says auto clear coat would be compatible. Understand though, that this paint takes a lot of coats of the step 2 can to get a good color shift. It's a job but the results are well worth the time and effort.

Mr Berkman May 19, 2009
By Patrick E. Berkman I have use Mirage Color Shifting Paint Red/blue on my motorcyle and my helmets. They are great. The color change is really something. I have had people ask me about the paint job. The only way it could be better is if they made it as a roll on for bigger jobs
Work just ok, but there are better options available Jan 30, 2012
By T-ranch The idea of a color changing paint is pretty neat but I was pretty disappointed with this kit. I followed the directions to the letter, and put on about 6 coats of the color, and still got pretty poor performance with the color changing effect. Looking straight on the color appears blue but when you look at it at angle there is only a subtle change to a dark red. And this color change is only evident in bright lighting, completely unnoticeable in dimmer lighting. A better option I found was Rustoleum's "Color Shift" paint. Maybe they put more flakes in or just made it better but either way I was rather disappointed with the Duplicolor Mirage paint

Isnt the color advertised Jun 24, 2011
By J. Neef Followed the application instructions to a T. Even shot it in my buddys spray booth and the results were mediocre at best.Far too dark and almost impossible to detect the color change unless under the brightest light and even then its crap. Would not buy this product again or recomend it to anyone.
