You can't be too thin, even if you're a light box! Jul 13, 2010
By Anne I originally bought the Artopgraph Light Tracer II, which, while less expensive, is a more cumbersome plastic box that is lit with a fluorescent bulb. Although it is a good product, I decided to return it and purchase this Lightpad instead, for one reason. The Lightpad is very thin--it's even slim enough to slide onto a bookshelf. It's so much easier to store away without having to find space in a closet (with all the other craft items!). Bonus, it comes with a protective sleeve to keep it safe when not in use.
The screen is smaller than the plastic tracer, but here's my solution: I'm tracing an Impressionist painting onto needlepoint canvas. Canvas size is 18 X 23. I went to Hobby Lobby and had the framing department cut a piece of clear acrylic 19 X 24; I then taped the painting and canvas securely to the acrylic and I move it around on the lightpad to trace the picture. It works perfectly. Great product. Highly recommended.

This thin pad is so powerful. When the sales person turned it on for me I was floored. She first turned on the Light tracer II and then this one. Light Tracer had somewhat of a gradient look when lit. Which is due to the fact that the light sits near the top of the box. It gets a slight bit dimmer towards the bottom. But with this the whole dang screen was lit beautifully and vibrant. You pay a bit more but don't waste money on sub-par tools. It looks like its built to last.

Great light table Jan 12, 2011
By Lily The light box is super bright, really thin and strong with a real metal frame. It's all pro's with no cons.

oh yeah! May 04, 2011
By D. Howard This was the perfect replacement for my old light box. Ever have the problem that when you have a cool tool that people line up to borrow it? That was the problem with my old light box. Now I don't miss it at all. The light pad is ultra thin compared to the BOX style I had before. This is about 1/2 inch thick. I can sit with this in my lap and just keep writing because my guide lines show through the paper. I can trace, emboss, deboss, write straight with the help of my guide lines underneath the paper. The pad is firm yet not heavy. It is substantial and not weak. I love it. Any art person (slides, calligraphy, paper arts, philatelist, origami, etc) will love this light pad.
Unite against cheap friends! Don't tell your cheap friends that you have this, they will want to borrow it. If they ask, tell them your new rule is to lend out your spouse but not your tools.

By Sozaku Nixe This lightpad is worth the price its SUPER bright (can shine through 2 pieces of 100lbs paper), has even lighting throughout the pad, and it came on time. I am super satisfied and would suggest this to any one looking to a good lightbox.
