Its a thread box Dec 26, 2008
By Mandy Welch It is a great way to keep your threads organized and kept together. It is simply a thread box... nothing glamorous about it. I thought that the title "thread box" made it clear that it was a box, not a box filled with thread, and my product arrived within two days in perfect condition.

Perfect. Nov 24, 2009
By Susan Y I have different sizes and types of general purpose thread, and I love this box for keeping them together. I don't have space for a rack on the wall or on a work table, so this is great to pull out while I'm working and close up and put away when I'm not. No, I can't use every single slot on it because I have different width spools and they don't all fit neatly, but they still all perch in there just fine. No cracks or problems with it so far.

Don't be fooled by the photos! May 09, 2012
By J. Miller The quality of this item is good. The 2 trays lift out of the box. There are 2 clasps (?) on the front to hold the lid closed and a handle that folds down. It's made of a cloudy, clear plastic, so you can mostly see through it. The problem I have with it is that the spools they used in the photos must have been very, very tiny. With regular-sized spools, I can use about every third pin or the spools will either rub tightly together or not fit at all. I could fit about 24 regular-sized spools on one rack and about 40 very small spools on the other one. It would have been possible to mix the smaller spools with the bigger ones and fit a few more in, but I wanted the taller spools separate so they wouldn't hide the smaller spools. Whoever designed the layout of the pins could have done a MUCH better job.
As someone else mentioned, if you carry it by its handle, any short spools will fall off the pins, which should have been taller to prevent that. So I have to keep some padding inside to avoid that. I just got mine today, so I haven't had a chance yet, but i intend to cut off the tall ends of one rack so I can place the padding underneath it so I can see the thread without opening the case.
A better design on the pins would have gotten this case 5 stars, but it is a serious-enough issue. I shouldn't have to carry it flat instead of being able to use the handle. Other than that, I like it.

It Works Aug 20, 2010

I agree with the other the reviewers -- this a plain, functional thread box. No bells and whistles; it's a thread box. This thread box keeps dust off your threads. They are easy to access; the clear lid helps you spot the spool you want quickly. The closed box with handle makes it portable.
I have six of the boxes within the Super Satchel series. They all work well. I love that they're stackable. That gives me a little more flexibility as my sewing space evolves. All have sturdy construction.

Good box nothing more nothing less Mar 09, 2010
By Eleanor A. Beal Problems I've had with this box: - If i turn it and i've stored any bobbins sometimes they fall out because there is a small gap between the lid and the spokes. Otherwise the box was in good condition when it arrived and has remained a fine purchase. I would recommend it if you have a lot of thread that you want to store.
