Very nice light pad! May 31, 2011

hi everybody I'm a cartoonist and freelance illustrator, this is an excellent item to trace drawing, has a measure 11x17 which is ideal for comic pages, I have only 2 complaints, 1. maybe a little heavy 2. I Buy one day shipping and the unit took almost 2 weeks to arrive. but that is another thing. regarding the article does what it promises, I hope will be helpful.
so, I recommend this item for profesional artists and enthusiasts of drawing or even for tattooists. have fun!!!

Wow. Where was this technology when I really needed it??
I got the 12x17 light pad, which is just the right size for 90% of the work I will use it for.
It's also about 1/6th the thickness of my old light box and has nicely rounded corners so it's comfortable when I lean it on my lap.
It's bright enough without being too bright, which is very easy on my eyes. The image shows through 2 pages of 150 lb bristol board perfectly.
I've had an 18x24 light box for 20 years. It's always worked well but it was too big and I always had to mask off the areas that surrounded the art I was tracing off because otherwise it blinded me.
It was also three inches thick and had sharp metal corners that never failed to dig into one or another of my legs or scratch the table top when I slid it up off of my lap.
The only advantage to my old light box was that it had 4 florescent tubes in it, triggered in pairs (1 & 3 and/or 2 & 4), so I could choose how bright it was and where the real bright spot was.
I'll keep my old light box for those few things I work on that are too large for my light pad but I'll have to clean the dust off of it because it will be sitting and waiting for those rare instances.

Just got the slightly smaller A930 model, and it's fantastic. Brilliant, even LED lighting that will never burn out, and is easy on the eyes. It's very thin but sturdy, seems well made, and comes in a very nice cloth sleve. Couldn't be happier. I thought about springing for the larger one, but the 9x12 is fine for my needs. If you're a professional working with large drawings all the time and aren't worried about portability, go with the biggest and you'll never regret it.

I bought this 12 x 17 light pad for my boyfriend, and he absolutely loves it! It's just like the description and is very sleek; however, it does have some weight to it. I definitely recommend the Artograph Light Pad!

Having ordered a light pad from another company and after receiving it found that the uniform advertising was false and exhibited a grid pattern. I returned the product. I then ordered the Artograph which advertised uniformity. When the pad arrived I found it was very uniform in the light distribution. I am very pleased with this product and would like to recommend for all other companies that a photograph of the uniformity be included in their advertising. Had that been available from the first company I would not have purchased it. Truth in advertising pays off. Recommend that Amazon continue with good companies and am very satisfied with their service.
