Worked Very Well, Easy To Use, Good Value, Minimal Instructions Dec 28, 2010

I was very pleased overall with the value this hopper gun provided. I used it to spray a knockdown texture. The package arrived from TCP in about a week in a brown box that was well packaged. The instructions were simply a diagram of the gun and its parts. There were no useful instructions on how to assemble or the use of the hopper. I had to watch several videos on youtube on how to mix and apply the texture. I sprayed a knockdown that looks as good or better than the rest of my house texture. using this tool. It sprayed evenly and worked very well. I used Sheetrock brand Wall and Ceiling Texture (the kind you have to mix). I used the gun at 30psi and the 3/8" setting. As the previous reviewer mentioned, the hopper did continuously allow air to continually pass through the hopper; however, it did not discharge any of the mix. Once I squeezed the trigger it would spray the compound. I used the trigger stop to ensure the air flow was consistent when spraying. The only issue I encountered was spraying the ceiling texture. When spraying the walls the texture had accumulated at the base of the orifice and prevented the compound from spraying consistently when pointed upward at the ceiling. Once I wiped the orifice clear, it sprayed very well again. It did cause my compressor to cycle a lot (26 gallon, 2 HP) given the continuous flow of air. I would also recommend using a quick-connect release on the pistol, getting a 5 gallon bucket to set the full hopper in for filling, and watching online videos if you have not used this kind of tool before.
Overall, I was pleased with the tool and would buy it again. Prior to this purchase, I had never used a hopper gun or attempted anything other than a Sheetrock patch with the little spray can. I used this to texture my master bath with a knockdown texture and it worked very well.
You get what you pay for.... Sep 18, 2010
By chezkatt The hopper continuously allowed air to flow from the compressor when connected, the trigger was irrelevant. Returned the product and bought a Wal-Board Texture Pro 200 at a local home improvement store due to a time issue.....worked great!
