Based on trying on this respirator ( I have one each of small, med and large ) all three sizes work on my face, although the small does not allow as much freedom as the med and large do. The large size seats higher up my nose and crowds my glasses. The softness of the silicone facepiece really helps to seal against my face, even when I have not shaved for a day or two. I am 6'1", 200 pounds and wear a 7.25 hat size. Additional filters are readily available at a cost of about $10 per pair. This particular mask comes with a pair of organic filters and a pair of covers that hold N95 particulate filters outside the organic filter. It also comes with a few replacement N95 filters for wearing outside the organic filter. Be aware that each mask size has its own partnumber. 3M R-7511ES is size small, with the included filters. 7512 is for medium 3M R-7512ES Professional Half-Mask Organic Vapor, N95 Respirator Assembly, Medium, 7513 is for large 3M R-7513ES Professional Half-Mask Organic Vapor, N95 Respirator, Large. All filters I tested were easy to breath through, much easier than through a full-face military gas mask (MCU-2/AP).
A note about filters for respirators.
1) Some respirators are great deals, but replacement filters are hard to find. Plan ahead. An example is the AOSafety 95090 Quicklatch Respirator (AO Safety 95090 Quicklatch PRO Dual Cartridge Respirator) I bought it two years ago along with some spare filters. While the respirator is effective and and very nice convenient design, the filters (AO Safety 95061 Replacement Cartridge for Quicklatch PRO Respirator) are no longer easily available, and sometimes ridiculously expensive.
2) N95 filters (example:3M R5P71 Particulate Filter P95, 10-Pack) are rated to remove only 95% of particulate matter out of the respirator. Seems like it is really much more effective than 95%, but this is what they say.
3) P100 filters 3M R-2091 Particulate Filter P100, 4-Pack remove 100% of particulate matter. These are a bit less expensive, but are very PINK.
4) P100 filters are also available combined with mild organic properties for a bit more money. 3M 2097 P100 Particulate Filter with Organic Vapor Relief, 2-Pack
5) Organic filters will remove many common odors. There are many kinds of organic filters, so check that you get the right one for your purpose. I have these: 3M R6001 Organic Vapor Cartridge, 2-Pack

I love this mask. It is most importantly comfortable, soft on the face, easy to adjust and use, and made of quality material. It seems like it will last for quite a while. Using it was a great experience. I am very happy with this purchase.
If you are a woman, definitely get a small. I got a medium at first, and it did fit, but during use it would occasionally slip a bit, and I had to adjust it. The small one is a better fit.
