Scotchgard Paint Protection Film - Door Edge Guard Apr 29, 2009
By Bruce T. Ridinger This is a refined door edge guard product for all cars of trucks. It's crystal clear, easy to apply, and nearly invisible. This protection film leaves the paint from your car of truck coming through without bulky or unsightly hunks of black plastic on the edges of the door, which ruins the clean line of your sheet metal or carbon fiber. It provides just enough protection against paint chipping or accidental dings due to door leaning in the garage beyond the a check point of your doors. Plenty in the roll to do multiple vehicles.

3m Door Edge Guard Apr 26, 2011
By IsoDad I have to agree that the description for this is poor on the Amazon page. However, I can also say that the product is great. I've used it on two of my vehicles, both 4 door with some to spare. The "tape" is easy to work with, follows the contours of the door without bunching up and sticks well. One has been on for almost a year and a half and looks as good as when I applied it. Much better than the old fashion hard plastic strips that I have used in the past.

Good Door edge guard OEM Product Jun 22, 2011
By sfbay55555 This is the exact same precut door edge guard that you got from Honda dealer for new car. Very easy to install. Watch Youtube video for easy installation guide. All OEM 3M paint protection products are highly recommended by professional installers. I install door edge guard, headlight film, and hood bra on multiple cars. Good quality!

Perfect and simple install Feb 03, 2012

Great product. Door edge guards are the easiest to install just take your time to make it around the curves and shapes. My advice is not to over stretch and make sure you clean your hands with 50/50 Rubbing Alcohol (70%)/ Water to avoid fingerprints and prep the area properly.

Extremely Satisfied Oct 10, 2011
By Abu I expected the tape/film to be thicker in width, but on applying it I found it's just the right width... There are a couple of instructional videos on youtube on how to DIY... no additional solvents needed, just plain water (optional, since this is a thin strip but I used it anyway)...
I was quite impressed at how the film was able to adjust to the curvature of the door, no hassles with air bubbles or the film buckling at edges, I guess its flexible... Its great... hardly noticeable after applying, and very easy to do. Takes about 5 min (max) per door (will get faster once you've done the first one)...
I actually did 3 cars using one roll of this (the 10 yards were enough for 12 doors, the cars I applied were a VW Golf & Passat as well as a Volvo S40)..
I just applied them recently so can't comment on its longevity... but I did give one of the cars a wash just after applying (I only cleaned the door edge before applying), and it showed no signs of peeling of or air bubbles or anything... so very happy with the product, highly recommended.
[UPDATE]: Its now been 4 months and the film is still pretty much the same as when I applied it :)
