I thought the instructions were very good. I had no problems following the steps. I would suggest starting on a small area of the car, just so you can get comfortable with how the system works. The results were amazing. We had bought an older used car that had large scratches on the hood and trunk. After we used the 3M restoration system, the scratches disappeared. We were so impressed with this 3M product; we used the product on our newer cars. Now some of the deeper scratches still existed, but they were now fine lines in the paint that you had to look hard to see. I would recommend this product.

RECEIVED THE 3M 39053 PAINT RESTORATION SYS BOUT A MONTH AGO. I LOVE THE KIT. I USED THE KIT WITH A 6 INCH ORBITAL BUFFER. GREAT KIT AND INSTRUCTIONS. WORKED WELL TO RESTORE THE PAINT ON MY '06 CHEVROLET MALIBU. I LOVE THE ERASER THAT CAME WITH THE KIT TO REMOVE TINY SCRATCHES. OVERALL THE KIT IS A+. I RECOMMEND THE KIT TO ANYONE LOOKING TO RESTORE THEIR CLEAR COAT PAINT.

Effective for Paint Restoration Apr 03, 2012

I purchased this system to get the orange peel off of the paint of a new vehicle. I like that the kit includes everything that is needed, minus the polisher, to fix any paint problems. I found that the product was safe on my paint, and did what it was supposed to do. A hand sanding disc is included in the set, but I chose to purchase 2000 grit wet sanding paper to use instead. The products removed all of the sanding marks and revealed the glass finish that I was seeking on my black vehicle.
The system works best if you have a hook and loop attachment on your polisher, but an adapter (basically a velcro disc that you stick to the polisher) is included in case you don't. I purchased the system when a rebate was offered by the manufacturer, which made this kit an even better deal.

I had high hopes for this product to get rid of some scratches on the doors of my car. After following all the steps I had a nicely waxed vehicle with the same scratches. No noticeable difference at all, other than the super-slick surface now.
Bottom line: great wax, but not much more.

The product works well. I had to go over twice with the compound but was satisfied with everything else. The pads are work great with a Meguiars DA polisher.
