I've used this material for many years now. Whether I'm buffing new stuff or even an old paint job, 3m finishing material works great. Recommend the final finish after to remove haze .

I'm sure this stuff works great for automobiles, but thats not what I use it for. I used it on a guitar neck that I finished myself with a varnish. I used Tru-Oil on a maple guitar neck and after it had dried I used the 3M Finesse-it to buff it out to a beautifully smooth sheen. I'd highly recommend this to anyone doing the same thing.

I have been using the 3m compounds for a couple of years now. The work I do is with computer mods, and the finishes on these projects approaches the quality of showroom floor at an auto show. I have been using primarily the 3m perfect it rubbing compound, followed by a polish. The thing I have been missing in between is a finishing compound. This stuff fits the bill. This I would consider to be a second stage of products in preparation for the final waxing. It is a fine cut, which is great for following up from a rubbing compound. Then I would use a wax cleaner/preparer type of product. There is a deep crystal shine by Meguiar's that I would apply after this to get that deep wet look, it works well as a prelude to waxing.
As far as price goes, this is better or comparable to any other I've seen on the web. I would buy other auto finishing products from Amazon in the future, and I do recommend this for anyone who does fine detail work.

Basically any product that 3M makes you know it's going to be good. A little pricey but thats what comes from research. I've used this "Finesse it II" quite a bit and it never let me down as far cutting power goes. A very good product....
