Great mild pen cleaner Sep 18, 2011

I have a fairly large fountain pen collection. I love writing with all of them and regularly change pens and inks. The challenge is always how to clean them. I use a water flush to start and that usually does the trick. If the ink has been sitting a while or is a tenacious color I have a small ultrasonic tank. But sometimes even that will not work. So I ordered a bottle of this product.
There are three main benefits to using this pen cleaning solution:
1. It works! I soak the nib & reservoir for 20-30 minutes, flush, then repeat. This works every time. I usually use a small glass (shot glass) for this. I haven't even needed to put it in the ultrasonic cleaner yet, that's how good it is. The ink gets removed and the metal looks wonderful.
2. The product is nontoxic! That's a great benefit as I'm not worrying about retaining the fluid, worrying about pets or kids getting into it, etc. The fluid is colorless and odorless.
3. A little goes a long way. I've cleaned about a dozen nibs and have used maybe 10% of the bottle.
I plan to order another bottle when this one runs out. Overall a great value and a great product!
