Holy Leverage Batman Aug 11, 2009
By Lambboy This thing is all metal except for the grips and the plastic container to catch the rivet shafts. Another reviewer said that the extra heads don't stay screwed into the handle when not in use. I have not had that issue. They stay right where they are supposed to.
I love the leverage that I can get on this thing. I put in 500 stainless steel rivets and by far the worst thing about it was drilling the holes.
Since it is so large and the handles are so long you won't be sticking this in any tight spaces. But hey you knew that right? If you need to hold the pieces you are riveting together it is possible to have one handle resting against your torso or leg or anything really for the first pull or two to get it started. Then just pump it a few more times and your done.
I dump the plastic container after about 10 to 15 rivets. Not having to pick up the shafts off of the floor is a wonderful add on.

A must for auto window regulators Jan 24, 2009

"Monkihead"
I am a do it yourself when it comes to cars and found this tool indispensable for replacing window regulators and motors for auto electric windows. You will not find this tool at any Sears, Home Depot, Lowes, auto parts vendor or anywhere. This is an adequate quality tool for the occasional use. Nothing else will do the job.

Astro Pneumatic 1426 1/4-Inch Heavy Duty Hand Riveter Oct 20, 2007
By Donald M. Brown I have used products like the Astro Pneumatic 1426 1/4-Inch Heavy Duty Hand Riveter in the past, but I was well pleased with the ease of changing out the Astro Pneumatic tips. The safety feature of placing the "catcher" in the middle to stop you from pinching your hands, as the heavier rivets (1/4 inch) are set, really works well. I would highly recommend the product based on its price and performance in setting auto body rivets.

Does the job Sep 18, 2010
By diverdon Did a good job of pulling the HD 1/4 inch rivets for my Crown Victoria window motor. Probably not heavy enough for continuous duty, but great for occasional use.

Works Great May 15, 2010
By Mr. Wan I bought this even though I was concerned how it would handle in tight areas. I race dirt cars and rivet body panels on it all the time. I'm happy to say I don't run into too many problems with this rivet gun because of it's size. It makes riveting a snap. Even if you do need to rivet in areas this gun can't get into, it's worth buying this one and another smaller one, because this one is so easy to use.
It beats straining yourself with one of those small single hand riveters, but at the same time don't need to worry about pneumatic only rivet guns.
