Beautiful colors, nice soft lead. These are perfect for my five year old and I love to use them, too.

I wanted to try a "professional" set of colored pencils on my drawings, expecting a real impact in my art work. However, I didn't want to jump into the most expensive set just for trying so I selected the Primacolor Sholar which I consider as an entry to the Prismacolor brand. For the purpose of everyday use, I think these pencils are awesome.
This set includes only 12 Colored Pencils: Crimson Lake, Orange, Lemon Yellow, Permanent Green, Dark Green, Permanent Blue, Copenhagen Blue, Violet, White, Skin, Dark Brown and Black. This set includes White and Skin colored pencils which my previous set lacked, but it is otherwise limited in colors. However, I have settled on a limited pallet of color for the type of art I wanted to create. These pencils work very well sketch or drawing paper, where it can be cleaned off easily without smearing with vinyl or kneaded eraser.
However, the main selling point of Prismacolor Scholar is that you get a good quality colored pencils for a low price. I'm very satisfied with these.
